LOA for Today: Your Ever-Improving Story

"If you will let your dominant intention be to revise and improve the content of the story you tell every day of your life, it is our absolute promise to you that your life will become that ever-improving story. For by the powerful Law of Attraction—the essence of that which is like unto itself is drawn—it must be!"

LOA for Today: Feeling Good On Your Way

"The reason you want every single thing that you want, is because you think you will feel really good when you get there. But, if you don't feel really good on your way to there, you can't get there. You have to be satisfied with what-is while you're reaching for more."

Who is Watching?

When I was a child I was told the story of the man-in-the-moon.  I would often picture that there was someone up there on the moon watching me and everyone else on this planet - looking down at us through a big giant magical telescope that allowed for a view into every aspect of life.  It was somewhat comforting to think that someone was always watching me but due to the physical separation and inability to 'talk' to the man-in-the-moon, it felt very observational.  No Action and No Communication, just Vision and Seeing.

During my teenage and early-adult years this observation became more earth-bound with parents, teachers and other members of my community watching me - sometimes very closely (for good reason)!  This was also comforting, although as a teenager I never would have admitted it! :)  But eventually, there was a desire to cut-the-cord and remove myself from this lens of familial and societal observation, in order to have the freedom to experience life out of True Personality. This took some doing, but eventually I found myself one night under the stars and the moon and I realized that no one was watching, but Me.

I noticed that this was not the little 'me' but the True Me - the one that included everyone that had ever supported, loved, watched, guided and observed me.  It was inclusive of the All and also very private.  Then came the question, "Now what do I do?"  I've spent years focusing on that question (still very much in-progress) but what I did ultimately figure out for myself is that there is True Power in watching ourselves.  Specifically, in every choice that we make we have an opportunity to watch ourselves before, during and after we take Action or Communicate by using what I call a 'Vision of Me'.

What I do when I come to a choice or a fork in my Path is to visualize 'Me' in the future telling the story of my current choice (now in the past) to someone that I am now watching.  For myself, I imagine 'Me' telling the story of my choice of 10 years ago to my now teenage son in my role as supportive parent and father.  I ask myself which story would provide the most wisdom and guidance to the 'Me' in the future, and then I use that insight to guide my choice in the Now.

When I see 'Me' telling the story in the future I often notice that the outcome of the choice is usually the least important part - it is more about the process of the choice and how I was being.  'Good outcome' or 'bad outcome', I am still a 'Vision of Me' and Watcher of someone I love, sharing an experience and hopefully wisdom, love and support.  What I find extremely powerful about this exercise is that it enables you to put your ego in '3rd position' in the Now, giving you the opportunity to make your current choice from the broader and more grounded perspective of Essence.

The next time that you have a moment to yourself under the stars and the moon, simply ask yourself - "Who is Watching you Right Now?"

Freedom in Action

Sometimes our journey on our Path takes us to that final step on what might seem like a cliff - where we have no other choice between turning back or jumping off.  From the perspective of our physical and emotional self that may be truly 'afraid of heights', it can be challenging to determine whether it is really the time to 'take that leap' or simply redirect our path back to where we came.  Rather than face such a black and white choice, many people choose to turn back long before they reach land's end.  However, I personally find this a very exhilarating spot - and the view is not too bad either!

I can understand why this makes some people very nervous.  For in essence, what we do when we jump off is we commit ourselves 100% and there is no going back, even if in the end we really, really, really do want to go back.  However, there is also great Freedom in fully committed and focused Action - specifically freedom from the MIND.  (Note: It's pretty hard for the MIND to keep offering up alternative options and freeze-up when you're already in mid-air).  There is just where you are when you are in motion, being propelled forward by the energy of the Universe around you.

What I would like to offer up today is the idea that if you find yourself at such a decision point, it is likely that your Essence has had a guiding hand in bringing you there.  This is not to say that you should take the leap, but just that your Essence might prefer that you give it a try.  It may actually be more practical and reasonable to defer at the current time and there is no choice that is not valid in the grand scheme of things.  However, what I have found from personal experience is that although I may turn back this time, eventually I'll be back on the cliff again at some time in the future.

With that in mind, I remind myself that I have always have a choice (even if I feel that I don't).  I remember to breathe, look around a bit and acknowledge those that have provided love and support to help me get here.  Then I simply ask myself, is it Time?

LOA for Today: Focus on What You Do Want

Relationships I Don't Want, Clarify Those I Do Want... Whenever you know what you do not want, you always know more clearly what you do want, so in a poignant moment of awareness of another person's undesirable situation, give your undivided attention to the idea of improvement that has hatched from your interaction/observation. And as you learn to do that, not only will you be of increasing value to others, but you will see how your relationships with others adds immeasurably to your own becoming.

Access Point

It is my practice to urge those with whom I engage to connect to the Universe/All/Source as often as possible in order to assist them along their Path.  I point out that the connection and access to the All is through Love (as opposed to Fear) and that this is Chosen by us each and every day in a myriad of ways.  I offer this guidance while acknowledging that most of us live in a hectic and busy world filled with distractions, obligations, complex relationships and an endless set of to-do's.  Therein lies 'the rub' and where the majority of the work lies for most of us:  Where & How do you make this connection?

My advice is simple - find what you Truly Love and do that.  Do as much of it as often as possible and pursue it with focus, joy and a depth of spirt.  If there is something that you do not Love then by simply focusing on that which you Truly Love then it will eventually just fall away.  Full Attention on that which IS Love will immediately bring you Present - every time.  This is what I call an Access Point and something that I use as a guide or touchstone to assist me in my everyday life.  From my experience you can have a number of them but I will share Where and How I used one Access Point recently as an example.

I was meeting with an advisor the other night and we were discussing this very topic (accessing the All via Love).  As our meeting was winding up there was a small earthquake (4.1 - very light shaking of the room) at almost exactly the same time that I received an email alert notification that there was a large accident in Half Moon Bay that would impact both of our commutes home and potentially our next obligations (due to the delay).  With synchronistic events, it is my practice to use 'worldly' reminders to utilize an Access Point to ground myself to help determine my Next Steps.

As soon as I left the meeting I called my wife to tell her of the accident, find out where she was and see if she was going to be able to still pickup our son at daycare.  She said she was A-OK, still able to make the pickup and that she had a good day, asking about mine as well.  We chatted for a bit and she said that she'd meet me at home but that there might be a delay, and then we hung up.  As I kept driving in the now almost stalled traffic in the direction of the accident I saw her pass me on the other side of the highway and I could literally Feel my Access Point passing me by.

As I finally made it to the next intersection I Felt ahead to our empty home with perhaps a warm fire and a book for an hour or 2 (due to the accident).  But behind me I Felt my Access Point... and therefore my Next Step.  So, I turned the car around and joined my wife and son at daycare.  It was a welcome surprise for my wife and son and we decided to go to dinner and had a great time - my son even had French Toast for dinner (thanks to the friendly chef)!  I was at my Access Point and I was immediately Present.  Everything else just melted away... and I was Love.

LOA (Law of Attraction) for Today: Flawed Premises

"Flawed Premises Can Attract True Unwanted Evidence... Flawed premises that you have picked up along your physical trail can fall by the wayside, one by one, and you can return to the understanding that is at the core of that which you are. (But in order to discover or understand a false or flawed premise, you have to stand back far enough and reconnect with who-you-really-are before you can see it.)

If you were to hear a false premise again and again, until you yourself began to believe and repeat it, now your own activation of the contradictory Vibration would interfere with your own sense of intelligence, and you would begin to attract evidence of your lack of intelligence, in effect proving the false premise to be true. And so, it becomes increasingly hard for you to call this a "false" premise when the evidence seems to be telling you that it is true, for over time you come to believe it is true."
